The 2015 SCFB Annual Meeting took place on Thursday, September 24th and was full of valuable information for all Summit County Farm Bureau members.
A number of honored guests sat elbow to elbow with attendees like Roger Baker, OFBF State Trustee. Jay Curry and Becky Glinsek from the Summit County Fiscal Office. Danielle Dufour, OFBF Regional Supervisor. Tim Crawford, Summit County Councilman and Nationwide agent and finally Scott Dressler, Copley Township Trustee.
Tom Dayton of Dayton Nurseries received this years Distinguished Service Award. Tom has contributed to the community through agriculture for over 17 years and has been a Summit County Farm Bureau board member for 4 years. More information about Tom’s achievements can be found on the home page.
After dinner, provided by Chenoweth Banquet Hall in Green, Gale Betterly, Summit County Farm Bureau President called the meeting to order.
A review of the ballot nominations to the SCFB board was held. Tom Dayton, Chris Esker, Ron Kuner, Tim Luther, Peter Schanz and Tim Walsh were all unanimously accepted to another two year term.
Then, the nominations for 2016 OFBF delegates; Peter Schanz, Tim Luther and Matt Hartong were voted on. Hearing no nominations from the floor, all three were elected.
Nick Kennedy took the podium after the board members and delegates were chosen. He discussed the change in the SCFB code that included our change in membership class rights.
The night concluded with a rousing game of “steal the door prize” and the meeting was concluded.
